World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is June 15

In observance of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 15, the Howard County Office on Aging’s Ombudsman and SPRING programs will partner with Howard County Police to raise awareness of Elder Abuse. They will present two free screenings of the short film "An Age for Justice: Confronting Elder Abuse in America" followed by a facilitated discussion at 11 a.m. at the Bain Center, 5470 Ruth Keeton Way in Columbia, and at 1 p.m. at the North Laurel 50+ Center, 9411 Whiskey Bottom Road in Laurel. The film will also be shown on June 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Glenwood 50+ Center, 2400 Route 997 in Cooksville. For more information, please call 410-313-6410.
