Columbia Woman Convicted of Animal Cruelty

A County jury convicted Ayten Icgoren, 80, of animal cruelty this afternoon, after authorities found more than 50 live cats and some dead ones in her home during a raid in August 2006, prosecutors said. Icgoren was found guilty on all of the 21 counts and could face more than 5 years in jail. She will be sentenced Jan. 8.

Aquatic Ecosystem Arrives in Elkridge
