      Students sometimes have fantasies of engulfing a teacher in toilet paper or hurling water balloons in an instructor’s direction.

  The battle against cancer gained a lot of local momentum June 3^rd and 4^th when 800 people participated in the 16^th annual Relay For Life of Howard County at Hammond High School. The Relay was an overnight event to celebrate cancer survivorship and raise money for the American Cancer Society.

I didn't really want to go, but all the family was going (CJ, young son, and Jane), so we packed up  a picnic dinner and headed off to Mt. Ida, Ellicott City.   The Patapsco Female Institute is an amazing renovation/ruins of an old stone school.  It's got a resident ghost, Annie Van Derlot, and is the site of weddings and receptions.
