Howard County Holds 3rd Annual Career Exploration Day

Howard County’s Office of Workforce Development, Department of Citizen Services, the Public School System and the Maryland Division of Rehabilitation Services hosted the County’s third annual Career Exploration Day for high school students with disabilities today. Thirty-two students were selected to participate in this half-day job shadowing event and experience the diverse employment opportunities available in local government and private sector businesses.

Kaiser Permanente Building New Facility in Maple Lawn

Kaiser Permanente has signed a 10-year lease for 42,000 square feet of office space to create a new call center located in the Maple Lawn Business Park in Fulton, Maryland. The announcement was made yesterday by Ed St. John, the Founder and President of St. John Properties, the real estate development company which owns and is developing and managing the property.

Valley Mede Neighborhood Sewer Corrosion Repairs

A Howard County construction project to repair a sewer main in the vicinity of the Valley Mede neighborhood, adjacent to U.S. Route 40 in Ellicott City has begun. The project will include the inspecting and lining of approximately 5,000 linear feet of sewer main. Weather permitting, the project should be completed in 60 days.

Traffic delays, road closures expected Sunday in downtown Columbia

You may have noticed electronic signs on Broken Land and Little Patuxant. Here's why:



Pedestrians and cyclists will be racing on Howard County roads on Sunday, April 25, during the Tri-Columbia Blossoms of Hope Howard Life Festival.
