iTech Launching at HoCo Library with $100,000 Grant

Howard County Library System (HCLS) has received $100,000 in federal grant funding to launch iTech, a STEM digital learning initiative for middle and high school students to elevate science, technology, engineering, and math. One of only 12 successful applicants, HCLS competed with 100 other educational institutions from 32 states. Project Literacy Awards Ceremony at Banneker Room

 Project Literacy is a signature educational initiative of Howard County Library System (HCLS). It provides adults with free instruction in basic reading, writing, and basic math skills. Join us as HCLS recognizes students who completed the high school diploma program, received U.S. citizenship, maintained outstanding attendance, and/or attained significant educational gains. HCLS Spelling Bee at Reservoir High School

Howard County Library System Teen Idol Finals at Howard County Center for the Arts

Sing your way to stardom at the Library's seventh annual Idol contest, open to all Howard County middle and high school students. Winner receives a $100 cash prize, music lessons from Mike's Music, and an invitation to sing the national anthem at a Bowie Baysox game. Two runners up receive a $75 cash prize.
