We're committed to providing independent, community focused
journalism to Howard County, Maryland. HoCoMoJo founders,
Ilana and
Dave
Bittner live and work in the community, and are active in a variety
of community organizations. Dave is currently president of
Columbia-Patuxant Rotary, while Ilana is involved in numerous
community organizations, including being a Director of Leadership
Howard County, Family & Children's Services,
twentyfivefortyfive, and Choose Civility. Dave grew up in Columbia
and Ellicott City, and Ilana, originally from Rockville, has
adopted Howard County as her home. They live in Owen Brown, in the
house Dave grew up in.
This is not a light endeavor we're undertaking, and we'll need lots
of help along the way. Our vision for HoCoMoJo is not only to
showcase the 'mojo' of our community but to continue to support the
institutions that make Howard County the best place to live. As we
grow, we're committed to setting aside 10% of profits in support of
Howard County community organizations.
Starting a new endeavor is never easy. As we grow, we'll be
providing advertisers unprecedented access to the community by
creating a strong cohesive environment where Howard Countians will
return regularly for daily news and information. However, we're
committed to providing tasteful and creative ways for local and
national businesses to interact with our community so that HoCoMoJo
does not become unduly cluttered with commercial messages.
