With uncivil behavior on the rise in the political, celebrity, and public arenas, now is a perfect time to remind ourselves why it's important to choose civility in our daily interactions.
Join Howard County Library for the second annual Choose Civility Symposium featuring a dynamic keynote address by Jack Marshall, a nationally recognized writer, speaker, consultant, lawyer, and ethics trainer, and president of ProEthics, LTD, an Alexandria-based ethics firm.
The Symposium also features remarks by U.S. Congressman Elijah Cummings and Howard County Executive Ken Ulman, four breakout sessions, and presentation of the inaugural Choose Civility Awards.
Breakout sessions include:
- Mean Girls: Queen Bees, Gamma Girls, and Surviving the Female Hierarchy
- "There Oughta Be a Law"
- Gracism: the Art of Inclusion
- Respect, Bias and Civility: the Art of Ethical Advocacy in a Polarized Society
